I fix and scale production systems that are already under pressure.

I work with startups and teams to stabilize, refactor, and ship backend-heavy systems — without unnecessary rewrites.

Available for architecture audits, refactor sprints, and critical system fixes.

About

I'm Peter Szollar, a Staff Software Engineer & Solution Architect.

Most systems do not break because of scale — they break because of early architectural decisions. I focus on getting those foundations right, especially in systems that are already in production.

I work hands-on as a lead developer or full-stack engineer when needed, but my main focus is making systems simpler, more predictable, and easier to operate long-term.

I'm also the CEO and owner of Clever Goat, where we help companies stabilize and evolve production systems — not just build new ones.

If your system is getting harder to maintain, slower to change, or starting to break under pressure, I'd be happy to talk.

Recent Projects

Cric Pulse

Built a reliable backend system that processes incremental data from Firebase in real time — without inconsistencies or failure states.

Designed a deterministic, rule-based processing engine with strict validation, ensuring predictable outputs and stable system behavior under continuous load.

What this solved:
  • Eliminated data inconsistencies from async updates
  • Ensured deterministic processing with no unexpected states
  • Reduced operational risk in production workflows

Role: Full-Stack Engineer / Architect

Stack: Node.js, TypeScript, Docker

Most of the source code is under NDA, but I'm happy to discuss architecture decisions, trade-offs, and outcomes.

Review Goat

Built a platform and dashboard for validating and acquiring authentic, ethical Google reviews at scale.

Focused on delivering a reliable workflow for review acquisition, validation, and operational visibility across a growing product.

What this solved:
  • Replaced a manual, error-prone review process with a structured acquisition pipeline
  • Added validation logic to filter out low-quality or non-compliant submissions
  • Gave operators full visibility into review status and campaign performance

Role: Full-Stack Engineer / Architect

Stack: Next.js, Node.js, TypeScript, MLM, Azure

Most of the source code is under NDA, but I'm happy to discuss architecture decisions, trade-offs, and outcomes.

Connectax

Led the architecture and development of a compliance platform handling complex tax workflows for EU companies operating in Hungary.

Designed a scalable microservices system to improve reliability, maintainability, and regulatory accuracy in a domain with strict operational requirements.

What this solved:
  • Eliminated fragile monolith bottlenecks by decomposing into ~30 independently deployable services
  • Reduced compliance risk through strict validation and auditable processing pipelines
  • Enabled the team to maintain and extend complex tax rules without full-system risk

Role: Lead Software Engineer / Solution Architect

Stack: Node.js, TypeScript, PHP, Python, PostgreSQL, Azure, Kubernetes, microservices (~30 services)

Most of the source code is under NDA, but I'm happy to discuss architecture decisions, trade-offs, and outcomes.

LINDABI CRM

Built a multi-tenant web application with strict tenant isolation and role-based access for predictable delivery and clean internal APIs.

Focused on maintainable architecture and operational clarity in a product with multiple tenant and permission boundaries.

What this solved:
  • Eliminated tenant data leakage risk with enforced isolation at the data and API layer
  • Reduced onboarding friction for new tenants through clean, predictable permission boundaries
  • Made the codebase easier to extend without breaking existing tenant configurations

Role: Full-Stack Engineer / Architect

Stack: Next.js, React, Node.js, TypeScript, PostgreSQL, Docker, Azure

Most of the source code is under NDA, but I'm happy to discuss architecture decisions, trade-offs, and outcomes.

LINDABI Tracking

Built a mobile time-tracking application for construction teams to log daily work hours and activities across different job sites.

Focused on a practical field workflow with reliable mobile data handling and a straightforward user experience for operational teams.

What this solved:
  • Replaced paper-based and spreadsheet tracking with a structured mobile workflow
  • Reduced reporting errors by capturing hours and site activity at source
  • Gave managers real-time visibility into daily output across multiple job sites

Role: Full-Stack Engineer

Stack: React Native, Node.js, TypeScript, Expo

Most of the source code is under NDA, but I'm happy to discuss architecture decisions, trade-offs, and outcomes.
